The Finland Society´s Intensive Finnish Language Course for Expatriate Finns
Time: July 18 - 29, 2011 (arrival on Sunday, July 17)
Place: Laajasalo Folk High School, which is located in a suburb of Helsinki, about 9 kilometers from the center of Helsinki. There are good and rapid connections between the Laajasalo Folk High School and the city center.
Fee: The Seminar fee is 850 euros, which covers tuition, room (double occupancy) and board, a study book and some free-time programme.
Fee without accommodation is 580 euros.
The course is primarily for descendants of Finnish emigrants who are planning to move to Finland. The foreign spouses of expatriate Finns may also attend the course. Students should be over 18 years of age and preferably under 45 years old. Knowledge of Finnish is not required. The language of instruction is English. Consequently, a sufficient knowledge of English is necessary.
Finnish (50 lessons) will be taught in small groups at three levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced. Lectures (in English) give the participants information on various aspects of Finnishness and information about moving to Finland and advice in job hunting in Finland.
